Trump claims, "There’s a tremendous tax that we pay when we (American businesses) go into China, whereas when China sells to us there’s no tax."
China has a basic Value Added Tax of 17 percent, while the United States has none. However, the VAT applies to most goods sold in China, regardless of whether they were made in China or any other country. China’s tariffs are higher than those imposed by the United States, but the Chinese exporters do face a tax when they sell in this country.

On May 4, 2016, Trump told NBC News that Germany "is crime-riddled right now" because of migration to Europe.
There are more criminal acts in Germany these days because there are more people, thanks to the influx of 1.1 million refugees in 2015 alone. But the data suggest that the refugees tend to be better-behaved than the typical German.

To be honest, Trump's comments are so all over the map.  In the Debate in November 2015, Trump said wages are "too high" and he wouldn't raise the minimum. On May 8, 2016, edition of NBC’s Meet the Press, He rambled about leaving it up to the states. On MSNBC in August 2015, Trump said, "Having a low minimum wage is not a bad thing for this country." But when opponents quote him he calls them lairs.

Trump said,"In California, "the windmills are killing hundreds and hundreds of eagles."
In the past the best estimate has been about 100 eagles killed each year by wind turbines, but today, fewer turbines, new designs and better siting have reduced fatalities.  Even those who are most concerned about the welfare of Eagles agree that Trump is exaggerating.

In order to counter claims that he had not donated the money to veterans as he claimed, Trump Claimed he wanted to keep veterans fundraising 'quiet.' (Modesty)
The fact is that he has been began bragging about his veteran donations since January, and was broadcasting it, but after reporters found that most of the money had not been paid to known veteran groups by May, he began trying to blame the press.

Donald Trump says he never said he wanted to give nuclear arms to Japan.
After Hillary spoke of his support of giving nuclear arms to Japan, Trump denied it. In a March 26 interview with the New York Times, he rambled about it.  He "didn’t quite say he wants Japan to get nuclear weapons, but he did go right up to the line. He was leaving the option on the table."

Trump, Republican presidential nominee, painted a picture of a nation in crisis, saying, "Crime is rising."
In Fact, crime rates have been falling almost without fail for roughly a quarter-century.  This includes violent crimes of murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault; as well as  property crimes like burglary, larceny and motor vehicle theft.  News coverage of crime may have increased.

He refers to the number of pages that were published in the Federal Register, a daily journal of the U.S. government that contains agency rules, proposed rules and public notices, but only about 31 percent of Register pages contain final rules. These rules might help save lives, keep banks from failing, or airplanes from crashing. 1/28/16

Grand Jury turns tables on Planned Parenthood accusers, but Texas Governor continues his investigation and his assault on Texas PP clinics.
On 1/25/2016 a Houston grand jury cleared Planned Parenthood of allegations that they sold organs of aborted fetuses, and instead indicted the undercover videographers behind the allegations on charges of using fake driver's licenses and violating Texas' law against the purchase and sale of human organs- the very law they tried to bring against against PP.

Cruz : "Here’s the simple and undeniable fact: The overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats."
Cruz misquoted a study of voting registration of all felons (not just violent felons) after being released from prison in three states. It does not address their political choice when committing the crime.  Less than half registered to vote after release, and most of those were Democrats.

Trump states President Barack Obama "wants to take in 250,000 (people) from Syria."
The administration has plans to increase refugees admitted from all countries from 70,000 in 2015 to 100,000 in 2017 but it will be nothing close to the 250,000 figure touted by Trump.

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler said "Twenty-five percent of our kids in foster care are there because their parents are involved in drugs."
Drug abuse by parents is the second most prevalent reason for a parent losing custody of a child to foster care services.

Sen. Roy Blunt says "The world food demand is going to double sometime between now and 2070."
Population and diet change alone will cause a 69 percent increase in calorie demand by 2050, researchers say. Globally, income and urbanization has been growing rapidly for the past five decades, and with that comes increased demand for food and a change in diets.
