In spite of a Supreme Court ruling on 8/31/15 saying that county clerk, Kim Davis, could not deny a marriage license to a gay couple, she continued to refuse saying she was guided by God's authority.  There was no explanation about how God condoned her three marriages.  The ACLU plans to levy fines.

On MSNBC Morning Joe, 9/9/15, Republican presidential candidate Huckabee could not defend his stance against same sex marriage.
Huckabee was asked if he would issue a second divorce to Kim Davis, or refuse since Jesus condemned divorce, but said nothing about homosexuality.   Huckabee could not answer.  He quoted Matthew 19 to support his narrow definition of marriage, however that verse was actually one where Jesus was condemning divorce.

The Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration performed the first in-depth federal look at conversion therapy and concluded that "none of the existing research" supports that gender orientation can be changed.  Conversion Therapy has resulted in many suicides.
