A Ferguson grand juror sues, accuses prosecutor, Bob McCulloch of mischaracterizing what happened in the jury room, and wants the right to speak out.
The American Civil Liberties Union has filed the suit for an unnamed juror to lift a lifetime gag order regarding the case. A juror disagrees with what has been revealed by McCulloch and feels the jury was ill informed. Legislators have asked for a review to see if McCulloch "manipulated" the grand jury.

Department Of Justice investigation finds Ferguson police routinely discriminate.
The city relies heavily on ticketing practices to generate revenue for the city. Between 2011 and 2013, African-Americans made up 95 percent of those charged with improper “manner of walking in roadway,” 94 percent of those charged with “failure to comply,” and 92 percent of those charged with disturbance of the peace. Blacks account for just 67 percent of the city's population.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed a measure that could allow businesses to turn away gay and lesbian customers in the name of "religious freedom."
Corporate giant, Salesforce, is canceling all programs in Indiana, saying they won't require their customers/employees to travel to Indiana to face discrimination.  NCAA is concerned about how it would impact players and fans in next week's men's basketball Final Four in Indianapolis.

The Indiana pizzeria that refused to serve gay weddings closed due to backlash, then received over $125,000 in donations.
After Indiana Governor Pence signed the controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the pizzeria owner who said they would never cater a gay wedding went out of business due to the backlash.  But a go-fund-me account netted over $125,000 in donations in 17 hours.
John Oliver
Oliver calls on federal government to end LGBT discrimination
The Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage was a historic milestone, but it didn’t put an end to discrimination against same-sex couples. On HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” Sunday, John Oliver called on the federal government to extend basic civil rights protections to the LGBT community because, as he put it, “same-sex couples can get married and return to work only to find they’ve lost their jobs or housing because of it."

A county clerk in Kentucky, who was married three times, is in contempt of court for continuing to refuse to issue marriage license to a gay couple.
In spite of a Supreme Court ruling on 8/31/15 saying that county clerk, Kim Davis, could not deny a marriage license to a gay couple, she continued to refuse saying she was guided by God's authority.  There was no explanation about how God condoned her three marriages.  The ACLU plans to levy fines.

In light of the Kentucky County Clerks refusal to perform her job due to her religious beliefs, HuffPost Religion has come up with a list of 13 jobs she should avoid that are banned by the Bible.
Deli Clerk, because she might have to serve pork (Leviticus 11:7-8); Clothing sales clerk or manufacturer because fabrics may have two types of yarn (Leviticus 19:19); church leader, priest, or deacon because women are not to speak in church (1 Corinthians 14: 34 - 35); public school teacher because women are not to teach men (1 Timothy 2:12-13); jeweler because women are required to dress modestly (1 Timothy 2:9); any Sunday sports job because it violates the Sabbath (Exodus 31:14-15); or a County Clerk because of she might have to register a divorce (Mark 10:11-12).  Jesus said the second greatest commandment is "Love your neighbor as yourself.”Matthew 22:36 - 40.

Sarah Palin used the Iran Deal rally as an opportunity to refer to #BlackLivesMatter activists as “the dogs.”
The Black Lives Matter movement has been protesting police brutality and calling for criminal justice reform. Remarks like Palin's are exactly what creates the rage in the first place. Her bigotry  dehumanizes people across the country  and gives Christians a black eye.

Australia has a generation that has grown up FREE from Mass Shootings.
The 1996 Port Arthur Massacre, was Australia's 9/11. A mentally challenged gunman killed 35 and injured 23 innocent people at a tourist attraction.  Australia took action and has never had another mass shooting.  An entire generation has grown up not fearing such things.

Federal report calls for end to 'Conversion Therapy' for LGBT youth.
The Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration performed the first in-depth federal look at conversion therapy and concluded that "none of the existing research" supports that gender orientation can be changed.  Conversion Therapy has resulted in many suicides.
John Henson Nba Milwaukee Bucks
Milwaukee Bucks' John Henson was a victim of racial profiling at jewelry store.
Henson was humiliated when he went to Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers in Whitefish Bay, Wisc. to purchase a watch. The staff saw him coming, locked the doors and hid in the back. Police officers questioned him and ran his plates.  The only reason for the drama was his race.
Income Inequity
Income inequality is a religious test. We must reclaim the Heart of our Humanity.
Jim Wallis, who spoke to the Parliament of the World's Religions said, if you believe that every human being regardless of religion or nationality, is made in the image of God, is a child of God, and if you believe in loving your neighbor then income inequality is a spiritual issue, a moral issue, and a religious test of our belief.  We can address inequality through human dignity, stewardship, and the common good.
Kevin Swanson, Anti-Gay preacher
Republican Candidates speak at a Kill-the-Gay rally hosted by the National Religious Liberty Conference.
Pastor, Kevin Swanson hosted an political event attended by 1700 people in Iowa, where he called for gays to be rounded up and killed.  He quotes Bible verses out of context to support this murder.  On the stage with him were Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindil, and Mike Huckabee.

Study shows that frequent Bible reading is tied to desire for social justice and openness to science.
A study by Baylor University researcher Aaron Franzen found frequent Bible reading predicted greater support for issues ranging from the compatibility of science and religion, important of seeking social and economic justice, to more humane treatment of criminals.

Pope Francis
Pope Francis says Church should apologize for discriminating against gays, and ask for forgiveness.
Francis recalled Church teachings that homosexuals “should not be discriminated against. They should be respected, accompanied pastorally.” He clarified if a gay person has good will and looks for God, who are we to judge? Read what Jesus said.
