She was joined in dissent by Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor.
Pat Robertson 700 Club
Pat Robertson told his "700 Club, “These people (Gays and lesbians) are terrorists, they're radicals, and they're extremists.”
Robertson's anti-gay tirade October 22, came after gay Houston Mayor Annise Parker issued subpoenas to five prominent pastors who had opposed a new anti-discrimination law.  He said “No Christian ... would ever try to enforce somebody against their belief or else suffer jail." (Jail was never threatened.) While the subpoenas were inappropriate and were recalled, the anti discrimination laws are written to protect from people like Robertson. Jesus never discriminated against gays.

Says a man in Ferguson, Mo., was photographed holding a sign that said, "No mother should have to fear for her son's life every time he robs a store."
The viral photo of a Ferguson protester was Photoshopped.(It is blatant lies like this that incite the prejudice --that creates the violence.) The real picture says, "No mother should have to fear for her son's life every time he leaves home."

Stop Discrimination
Department Of Justice investigation finds Ferguson police routinely discriminate.
The city relies heavily on ticketing practices to generate revenue for the city. Between 2011 and 2013, African-Americans made up 95 percent of those charged with improper “manner of walking in roadway,” 94 percent of those charged with “failure to comply,” and 92 percent of those charged with disturbance of the peace. Blacks account for just 67 percent of the city's population.
Lou Dobbs Fox Pundit
Because of President Barack Obama’s failure to "push job creation," the black unemployment rate in Ferguson, Mo., is three times higher than the white unemployment rate.
First and foremost, Dobbs’ numbers are off. The most recent and best available statistics say the black unemployment rate is 1.9 times higher than the white unemployment rate in Ferguson (16 percent to 8.5 percent). Second, that has little to do with Obama.
Brian Kilmeade Fox News
Says Colorado food stamp recipients can use ATMs to get cash to buy marijuana.
The technology behind government electronic benefit cards blocks that. While the card could have cash value from another program such as TANF, no ATM would dispense cash based on a person’s food stamp allowance.

Mike Pense Gov In
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed a measure that could allow businesses to turn away gay and lesbian customers in the name of "religious freedom."

Mike Huckabee mocks transgender people saying he wished he could have pretended to be transgender in high school “when it came time to take showers in PE.”
Most people feel it is Christian to treat others with respect and love, even if you don't understand or agree with them.  These sentiments by former governor Mike Huckabee, a favorite of Christian conservatives, show total disrespect and ignorance, as well as inappropriate desires.

Bernie Sanders Vt Senate
Sanders says "A black male baby born today, if we do not change the system, stands a one-in-three chance (of) ending up in jail."
This calculation, according to PolitiFact, is 14 years old, and changes in the underlying data suggest that the actual odds of incarceration may be somewhat smaller today. Still, other evidence suggests that blacks have a disproportionate likelihood of ending up in prison.
Hillary Clinton
American schools are "more segregated than they were in the 1960s."
The United States has taken two steps forward and one step back, but hasn’t quite reverted to pre-Civil Rights levels of segregation. Hillary has a strong point that the country has fallen back from the high levels of diversity that existed from the 1970s to the early 1990s.
Did Abraham Lincoln plan to send ex-slaves to Central America after the Civil War?
Lincoln did not envision forced deportations of ex-slaves. Voluntary colonization was effectively dead by the time the Emancipation Proclamation was issued on Jan. 1, 1863 -- more than two years before Lincoln’s assassination.

"Hundreds of thousands of (illegal immigrants are) going to state and federal penitentiaries."
PolitiFact found that in 2013, there were fewer than 100,000 noncitizens -- legal and undocumented -- in federal and state prisons. Though it’s also possible that many of these individuals are held for immigration violations as opposed to other crimes.
Hillary Clinton
Says Jeb Bush "doesn't believe in a path to citizenship. If he did at one time, he no longer does."
At times, Bush has supported a path to citizenship, and at other times he hasn’t. He has said he might support a path to citizenship if it could make it through the political process.
Donald Trump
"The Mexican government forces many bad people into our country."
There is no evidence of any Mexican policy that pushes people out of Mexico and into the United States. As it has been the case for decades, a combination of economic and family factors accounts for most of the migration from Mexico to the United States.
Donald Trump
"If you're from Syria and you're a Christian, you cannot come into this country" as a refugee.
This is wrong on its face -- a small number of Syrian Christians been admitted as refugees over the past nine months -- and also false in spirit, since there is nothing in the United States’ laws or regulations that discriminates against Christian refugees.
Jim Wright Ex-speaker
New voter ID laws in Texas restrict minorities and elderly, even the former speaker of the US House.
Ninety year-old ex-speaker of the US House, Jim Wright, no longer drives, and his faculty ID card from TCU, where he teaches, so he doesn't meet requirements to vote without a special affidavit. Even Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Wendy Davis had to get an affidavit in order to vote under the new laws.

The Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage was a historic milestone, but it didn’t put an end to discrimination against same-sex couples. On HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” Sunday, John Oliver called on the federal government to extend basic civil rights protections to the LGBT community because, as he put it, “same-sex couples can get married and return to work only to find they’ve lost their jobs or housing because of it."

Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin used the Iran Deal rally as an opportunity to refer to #BlackLivesMatter activists as “the dogs.”
The Black Lives Matter movement has been protesting police brutality and calling for criminal justice reform. Remarks like Palin's are exactly what creates the rage in the first place. Her bigotry  dehumanizes people across the country  and gives Christians a black eye.

Insight: Why Jesus wants you to give up judging others and embrace a graceful mindset.
The act of judging the motives and actions of others is sticky. It's not like righteously throwing a rock at the one we deem guilty. Judging is more like putting your fist in pot of glue, then when you decide to throw it at your intended target, it sticks to you. Read more in Mick Mooney blog.
Voter Supression
Blatant Alabama voter suppression is challenged.
Alabama's only Democratic member of Congress is requesting the Justice Department investigate the state's decision to close 31 driver's license offices in poor, rural, mostly-African American communities.  Since they started requiring a drivers license to vote the move could curtail the voting rights. (Note: Gerrymandering and voter suppression is UN-Christian!)
Donald Trump
On May 4, 2016, Trump told NBC News that Germany "is crime-riddled right now" because of migration to Europe.
There are more criminal acts in Germany these days because there are more people, thanks to the influx of 1.1 million refugees in 2015 alone. But the data suggest that the refugees tend to be better-behaved than the typical German.
Pope Francis
Pope Francis says Church should apologize for discriminating against gays, and ask for forgiveness.
Francis recalled Church teachings that homosexuals “should not be discriminated against. They should be respected, accompanied pastorally.” He clarified if a gay person has good will and looks for God, who are we to judge? Read what Jesus said.
