Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Archbishop Desmond Tutu would prefer hell over a homophobic heaven
Nobel Peace Prize winner, Desmond Tutu denounced religions that discriminate against LGTB-identified people during the United Nations launch of its gay-rights program in July 2013, in Cape Town. He said, "I am as passionate about this campaign as I ever was about apartheid."
Jimmy Carter Democrat
Former President Jimmy Carter is issuing a call to action for religions to stop using scripture to trample on women's rights.
Carter says, "There's no evidence at all that Jesus Christ did anything except to exalt women."

Teachers Leave Archdiocese Of Cincinnati Over Controversial 'Morality Clause' In New Contract
New teaching contract prohibits teachers, whether Catholic or not, from having sex or living with a partner outside of marriage, using in-vitro fertilization, leading a gay “lifestyle,” or publicly supporting any of the above.  Teachers fight back with sign, "Would Francis sign?"
Charles Angeletti
Professor makes students recite 'Anti-American' pledge of allegiance
Angeletti's strong political statement against Christian and University values by having students pledge allegiance to a racist, homophobic, sexist America that is in the name of Jesus, that hates Communists and women who want to get abortions.
Roy Moore R-al
Alabamians "haven’t changed their opinion" on same-sex marriage since voting to ban it in 2006.
An overwhelming number of people still oppose same-sex marriage in Alabama, but polling data suggests measurable movement on this issue. Recent polls show about 71 percent of likely voters oppose same-sex marriage today.
Dr Ben Carson R
"A lot of people who go into prison straight, and when they come out they’re gay."
There is no research that supports this point. The one study that even begins to address the topic has too small a sample size -- and too many variables -- to shed light on Carson's claim.  Additionally, experts told us the sex culture in prison is not comparable to sex culture outside of prison, making it a bad analogy.
Tim Cook
"Legislation being considered in Texas to strip the salaries and pensions of clerks who issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples."
Cook fairly summarized Bell’s legislation. But clarification was missing in that the proposal wasn’t "being considered" by lawmakers either then or when Politifact completed their review a couple of weeks later.
Mike Huckabee
Mike Huckabee mocks transgender people saying he wished he could have pretended to be transgender in high school “when it came time to take showers in PE.”
Most people feel it is Christian to treat others with respect and love, even if you don't understand or agree with them.  These sentiments by former governor Mike Huckabee, a favorite of Christian conservatives, show total disrespect and ignorance, as well as inappropriate desires.
Ted Cruz Tx
The Supreme Court’s views "are radically out of step with public opinion" regarding its decision to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide.
Most polls found by PolitiFact say around 60 percent favor same-sex marriage -- a high point. At the state level, the majority holds in most cases.
Jimmy Carter
Former President Jimmy Carter said in a recent interview that he thinks Jesus would approve of gay marriage.
"I think Jesus would encourage any love affair if it was honest and sincere and was not damaging to anyone else, and I don't see that gay marriage damages anyone else," Carter said in a HuffPost Live interview with Marc Lamont Hill published Tuesday.
Ted Cruz Tx
Ted Cruz says Supreme Court is out of step with public on same-sex marriage, but polls don’t agree.
Support for same-sex marriage has risen dramatically.  A February 2015 CBS News poll found 56 percent said Gay marriage should be left to states, but that dropped to 41% by June. A Gallup poll says that 60% support Gay marriage.
John Oliver
Oliver calls on federal government to end LGBT discrimination
The Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage was a historic milestone, but it didn’t put an end to discrimination against same-sex couples. On HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” Sunday, John Oliver called on the federal government to extend basic civil rights protections to the LGBT community because, as he put it, “same-sex couples can get married and return to work only to find they’ve lost their jobs or housing because of it."
Josh Duggar
What the Church must learn from Josh Duggar about how to teach youth about sexuality.
It is likely that Josh Duggar's extreme brand of Christianity helped nurture his extreme sex addiction. Some common conservative lessons that may be damaging include: Once you cross the line, you are ruined; Men were hardwired to objectify women; All sex outside of marriage is equally bad (ex. rape and teen lovers); Your worth is irrevocable- instead of teaching that God loves always.
Ashley Madison Cheating Website
Some predict that over 400 clergy and religious leaders will resign their positions after their names appeared on the Ashley Madison list.
"The real tragedy is the hypocrisy that so many clergy engage in."  "We need to be humble and to embrace our flawed humanity as we seek through our faith and experience to better ourselves." When we truly face our humanity, we will stop pointing the finger at others in order to distract from our own sins.
Lgbt
Federal report calls for end to 'Conversion Therapy' for LGBT youth.
The Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration performed the first in-depth federal look at conversion therapy and concluded that "none of the existing research" supports that gender orientation can be changed.  Conversion Therapy has resulted in many suicides.
Kevin Swanson, Anti-Gay preacher
Republican Candidates speak at a Kill-the-Gay rally hosted by the National Religious Liberty Conference.
Pastor, Kevin Swanson hosted an political event attended by 1700 people in Iowa, where he called for gays to be rounded up and killed.  He quotes Bible verses out of context to support this murder.  On the stage with him were Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindil, and Mike Huckabee.
